C02 knowledge check
How the other departments work
Pass is 80%. This is open-book — use the academy, not hope.
1. Sales may tell a buyer:
We can beat that number — I'll take 8% off on the call.
We'll start Monday. I already told the crew.
Here is the specified system, the exclusions, and the next step. Price and schedule come from estimating / Eric — I will not freelance either.
Net 30 is fine. Everyone does it.
2. The crew's job when the GC asks for 'a little more cove' is:
Do it. Faster than paper.
Stop, radio it, do not apply the extra, get a written proceed.
Invoice T&M from memory on Friday.
Tell the GC no and walk off the job.
3. Field ops exists so that:
Somebody has a clipboard.
The right kits, people, hours, and constraints show up — and a dew-point / material miss does not become a crew in a driveway.
The office never has to talk to the field.
We can skip dailies.
4. The office's job, in one line:
A clean inbox.
A recoverable job file plus current money and risk — so the field can install and the company can get paid.
Keeping Eric off the phone.
Fast replies, even if wrong.
5. Lot / batch numbers on kits are:
Optional, unless pharma asks later.
Photographed as drums open. Never invented. QA and audits live or die on them.
Copied from last month's similar job.
The GC's problem.
6. Paid-if-Paid in a subcontract is:
Normal. Sign it.
Forbidden. Escalate. Do not sign. Do not email the protocol to the GC.
Fine if the GC is a friend.
Sales can waive it to win the job.
