The data sheet runs the install
Every Maverick product ships with a data sheet, and the numbers on it are not suggestions. Where to find them, what they mean, and why being outside them is a stop.
- Find the five critical numbers on any product data sheet before mixing
- Know the rules that repeat on almost every Maverick sheet
- Treat an out-of-spec condition as a stop, with the same authority as dew point
Why this module exists
Every failed floor starts the same way: somebody skipped a number that was printed on the data sheet the whole time. Mixed too much. Rolled too late. Coated over a damp slab. Recoated outside the window. Each of our products has a data sheet that states exactly how it must be installed — and this module puts the critical requirements from every one of those sheets in one place. The sheets ride in the job folder — and every one of them is online: the PDS Library on maverickperformancesolutions.com (Architect Center), or Google the product name plus 'Maverick data sheet.' Twenty seconds on any phone. When the sheet and your habit disagree, the sheet wins.
The five numbers you find before you mix — every product, every time
| Number | Where it lives on the sheet | What happens if you ignore it |
|---|---|---|
| Mix ratio (and mix order) | Technical / Installation Data | Material never cures right. There is no fixing a bad ratio after it is on the floor. |
| Pot life / working time | Cure Times table | Material stiffens in the pail or on the floor. Lines, ridges, wasted kits. |
| Coverage rate / thickness | Coverage table | Too thick: bubbles, foam, haze, blown electrical or moisture ratings. Too thin: no protection. |
| Recoat window | Cure Times / Application Procedure | Miss it and the next coat will not bond — the sheet says sand the whole surface first. |
| Temperature + moisture limits | Temperature box / Surface Preparation | Apply outside them and the coating can blister, whiten, or let go of the slab. |
The mixing area, set up before anything is mixed
- 01Close to the work
Place the mixing area as close to the application area as possible. Plastic or tarp down, taped to the floor.
- 02Everything staged
Tools, squeegees, rollers, spike shoes, measuring containers, clean-up supplies — in place before the first kit opens. The MavSeal RCU sheet says it plainly: preparation is critical; crew in position before mixing.
- 03Tape and terminations
Mask every perimeter where the system terminates. Sawcut and key-in at drains, doorways, dock plates, and high-impact points per the Maverick details.
- 04Sheet in hand
The data sheet for every product on today's application is in the job folder — and if one is missing, it is on maverickperformancesolutions.com in 20 seconds. Lead confirms the five numbers out loud at the huddle.
- Not this
We've run this product a hundred times — I know the numbers.
ThisThe sheet is in the folder. Thirty seconds to confirm beats a floor we tear out.
- Not this
The sheet's in the truck somewhere. Close enough.
ThisNo sheet, no mix. Pull it on your phone — every sheet is on our website or one Google search away. Twenty seconds beats a torn-out floor.
Takeaways
- Before you mix: ratio, working time, coverage, recoat window, temperature and moisture limits. All five, from the sheet, not from memory.
- The floor does not care that we are behind schedule. Chemistry keeps its own clock.
- You never guess a number. Every Maverick data sheet is online — our website or one Google search, 20 seconds on your phone.
